Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. received FDA approval for generic versions of the Merck antihypertensives Hyzaar (losartan potassium and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, 50 mg/12.5 mg and 100 mg/25 mg) and Cozaar (losartan potassium tablets, 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg). Both products are available for immediate shipment. Actavis also received approval for losartan potassium tablets, which will be available in 25-mg, 50-mg, and 100-mg strengths.
